If the artist's charge is form-making there is no better source to study it than the natural world. I have been drawing forms from nature for a long time; these are my version of "field notes". Some have been developed further with ink and color, others are sketchbook versions. They date from the 1990's to the present. I titled an exhibit of these drawings, Walking, Looking, Drawing, to highlight three intertwined and ongoing practices that are foundational for me.
