Mixed Media

Mixed media techniques answer my need for a working method with maximum immediacy, allowing me to impose quick juxtapositions and move beyond the formality of painterly representation. Using transparent materials such as rice paper and mylar, I can create layered imagery while rotating among painting, drawing, monoprinting and collage techniques. My wish is to work with simultaneous images but retain pictorial clarity. The image is a composite based on visual memory, which is not sequential but fragmented.
